< Reunion - Global 917 Reunion – II

July 10, August 10, 2026

After returning to the Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans, the Porsche 917s travelled to Provence for the second chapter of the Global 917 Reunion.

For one month, Global Reunion presents the largest gathering of Porsche 917s held in Europe since they left the factory, within the remarkable setting of Mathieu Lustrerie. More than an automotive exhibition, this event offers a unique perspective on these machines, which have, over the decades, become true works of art and automotive heritage.

Upon entering, visitors are welcomed by a panoramic view of the entire exhibition from an elevated gallery overlooking the collection. This first perspective reveals the exceptional scale of the gathering before leading into a journey through the history of Porsche’s racing prototypes.

Along this gallery, a selection of closed cockpit sports prototypes traces Porsche’s technical and aesthetic evolution, from the Porsche 904 GTS to the 917. This progression illustrates the path followed by the engineers in Weissach, the development of aerodynamic concepts and the innovations that ultimately gave birth to one of the most iconic racing cars of all time.

At the heart of Mathieu Lustrerie, the Porsche 917s are displayed alongside carefully selected contemporary artworks. Our ambition is not simply to present these automobiles as extraordinary mechanical achievements, but also as creations whose proportions, forms, colours and history extend far beyond the world of motor racing.

Each chassis is accompanied by detailed documentation recounting its individual history, racing achievements and the personalities connected with it. Visitors are invited to take the time to discover every car individually, understand what makes each one unique and appreciate the extraordinary heritage it represents.

Monumental chandeliers, period posters, historic photographs and a selection of Porsche 917 artefacts accompany the cars throughout the exhibition. The singular atmosphere of Mathieu Lustrerie plays a central role in this immersive experience. Together, they place these cars back within their historical context and remind us that they now belong as much to our industrial history as to our cultural heritage.

Among the cars on display are several of the most important Porsche 917s ever built, including the legendary Hippie Car, runner up at the 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans and recognised as the first Art Car in endurance racing. Their presence alone illustrates the diversity of stories told throughout this exhibition, where motor racing meets art, design and creativity.

Through this second chapter of the Global 917 Reunion, our ambition is to offer a different way of discovering the Porsche 917. Not simply as an exceptional racing machine, but as a design icon, a historical witness and a work of automotive heritage capable of engaging naturally with contemporary art.

Finally, this exhibition is dedicated to the memory of Hans Herrmann (1923–2026). By winning the 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans at the wheel of the Porsche 917K, he secured Porsche’s first overall victory in the race, opening the chapter that would establish the marque as the most successful manufacturer in Le Mans history. His talent, humility and legacy continue to inspire everyone who keeps the legend of the Porsche 917 alive.

RIP Hans Herrmann
1923–2026

The exhibition is open until 10 August. We look forward to welcoming you.
