November 23, 2025 – Californie, États-Unis
What would a celebration of the Porsche 912’s 60th Anniversary be without a stop in… California?
The birthplace of automotive culture, surfing, Volkswagen, Porsche, and a unique way of life, California was the obvious place to conclude this incredible journey dedicated to the Porsche 912.
Once again, we were welcomed by an incredible community of enthusiasts, supported by remarkable people who immediately understood the spirit of Global 912 Reunion.
From day one, our ambition has remained the same: to share a passion, create meaningful connections, and change the way people look at automobiles. Because to us, a car can be a work of art, a witness to its era, a creator of memories, and above all, a powerful way to bring people together.
Thanks to the generosity of Phillip Sarofim and his entire team, our day began at sunrise on the rooftop of the Petersen Automotive Museum, right in the heart of Los Angeles. Surrounded by this iconic building, whose spectacular stainless-steel ribbon façade was designed by the architectural firm Kohn Pedersen Fox, we shared coffee prepared by our friends at Manx Café before setting off on the road.
Throughout all three chapters of Global 912 Reunion, one small detail appears again and again in the photographs: there is always a Meyers Manx with us. That is no coincidence.
The Meyers Manx perfectly embodies California, craftsmanship, freedom, simplicity, and that famous Smile Per Mile feeling so familiar to every Porsche 912 owner. Like the 912, it has the unique ability to make people smile, bring strangers together, and remind us that driving should always be about enjoyment.
Then it was finally time to drive. As a convoy, we left Los Angeles for Huntington Beach, following one of the world’s most legendary roads: the Pacific Coast Highway. Driving together along this iconic coastline, with the Pacific Ocean beside us, will undoubtedly remain one of the defining memories of the entire anniversary celebration.
When we arrived in Huntington Beach, even more Porsche 912s were already waiting for us.
Our destination was a place frozen in time: HB Speed Shop, a former 1940s dealership that seems to have preserved its soul through the decades.
Thanks to the generosity of Betim Berisha, founder of BBI Autosport, we were given the extraordinary opportunity to transform this remarkable place into the home of our California edition.
Porsche 912s filled every corner of the building. They stood on workshop lifts, inside the showroom, and outside the garage. Everywhere you looked, another 912 seemed to tell its own story. For a few hours, it genuinely felt as though we had stepped back into the 1960s.
Once again, we wanted to create a dialogue between the automobile and other forms of creation. The timeless curves of the Porsche 912 blended naturally with the architecture of the building, the workshop tools, the textures, and the atmosphere of this historic garage. More than simply displaying cars, we created an exhibition where every automobile became a work of art in its own right.
Betim is an incredibly inspiring, passionate and generous person. To make the day even more special, he arranged for one truly extraordinary car to join us from the Petersen Museum: Ken Block’s famous pink Porsche 912 built for Pikes Peak. Its presence left a lasting impression on everyone attending the event.
I would also like to express my deepest gratitude to Griffith McDaniel, who very generously entrusted me with his beautiful Porsche 912, “TOAD,” throughout the entire event. Experiencing this California adventure behind the wheel of such an iconic car made it even more memorable, and I will always be grateful for his trust and kindness.
My sincere thanks also goes to Patrick Long, whose generosity, encouragement and introductions played a major role in making Global 912 Reunion possible in the United States. His support and belief in this project will always remain an important part of this story.
To conclude the day, we climbed back into our cars and drove towards Dana Point, where another group of passionate Volkswagen enthusiasts was waiting for us.
Because in the end, it would have been impossible to celebrate the Porsche 912 without reuniting with the wider Flat-4 family.
Seeing Porsche 912s and Volkswagens gathered together one last time perfectly reflected the story of this remarkable automobile, a car born between two worlds, still capable today of bringing together people from different backgrounds through the same shared values.
This final chapter brought the Porsche 912’s 60th Anniversary celebrations to a perfect conclusion.
From Provence to Japan, and finally to California, one automobile created hundreds of encounters, connected automotive culture with art, design, architecture and craftsmanship, and most importantly, brought people together.
Thousands of miles separated these three continents.
Yet everywhere we went, we found the very same smiles, generosity and passion.
Throughout this journey, the Porsche 912 proved once again that it is far more than an automobile.
It is a bridge between generations. Between cultures. Between disciplines. And above all, between people.
That is the true spirit of Global 912 Reunion.
And this is only the beginning.
